Losing It with Jesus

Losing It with Jesus -The Intro

“And so, dear Brothers and Sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.  Let them be a living and holy sacrifice- the kind he will find acceptable.”                         -Romans 12:1-2

You might be reading this and thinking, “what does Jesus have to do with weight loss?”  You might be sitting here and thinking, “wow this woman is crazy!”  However, I ask that you bring into this post an open mind, heart, and soul.  Too often we get distracted by fad diets, juice cleanses, and calorie counting… I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THOSE ARE NOT SUSTAINABLE.  In order to fully achieve a healthier body you must first achieve a healthier soul.

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 1:2

Have you ever taken the time to figure out why you are not happy with your appearance?  Do you feel you need to lose a large amount of weight?  Are you unhappy with your double chin?  Is it that you just want to firm up your body?  These are all important questions.  If you don’t know what you want to change it will be difficult to change in the long run.  God loves us all but he wants us to be in a healthy state.

“He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow.” Psalm 18:34

Putting your faith in the Lord is the first step to “Losing It with Jesus!”  It is in that faith that you will succeed.  The next step is to get to work!  You can sign up for a gym membership, take some boutique fitness classes, or start going for runs/ walks outside.  Personally, I do all three!  I am able to use my gym membership and this beautiful world that has been created for us in combination with Aaptiv!

What is Aaptiv?

Aaptiv is an audio-based fitness app that includes individual workouts, personalized programs, and group challenges created by real life expert trainers.  It is similar to having the instructor of a boutique fitness class or personal trainer right in your ear!  The plus side is if you are doing the workouts at the gym, you look like a professional.  The workouts range in length, level of difficulty, genre of music, type of workout, and specific trainer.  With over 2,500 classes available on the app and 20 active trainers releasing new “classes” each week you will always be able to find a workout that interests you!

Remember, it is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that all things are possible!

Great verses to tie this together! I agree – we are supposed to treat our bodies with respect, as the temple of the Holy Spirit. It’s not really about the way we look to others, but the fact that we are trying to be healthy both inside and out, to be able to live this life to the fullest, for His glory!

I agree that it is within His glory that we are able to achieve anything! I have been really struggling to stick to a weight loss routine, either diet or exercise but nothing has been as helpful and pairing my weight loss with the Bible. It really has been an eye opening experience, I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you!

I have such a hard time being a good steward when it comes to my body but have been getting better. Between combining the Bible with workouts with Aaptiv it has finally started to take a turn! I highly suggest trying out the free trial for the app, my sister got me turned on to it and now I’m hooked. It has really helped me take control of my fitness. Let me know if you have any questions about it or working out in combination with the Bible! I hope you continue to follow along this journey of “Losing It with Jesus!”
